News & Notes from the Library
What's up at the library for August 21, 2008 by Karen Kinnison
Ok folks, I don’t have any more words to describe this heat! It’s hot; get over it. Nuff said! However, it IS nice and cool here in the library and we have lots of good things to keep you entertained INSIDE. So put on your sunscreen and come on down!We have some exciting news for this library. We applied for and have received a Tocker Foundation Grant of $24,500 to do some remodeling inside the library. The remodeling will include making more space for public programs, creating an area for teens, and a quiet reading space with comfy chairs —sorry, no coffee bar. Watch this column for more information and plans.
Don’t forget our Poetry Reading on Thursday, August 21st at 7:00 p.m. here at the library. Patty Campbell, Shelley Smith-McMasters, and Lainie Eddings will be reading Texas Poetry.
